Advanced Solution for Efficient Tire Recycling and Steel Separation
The Granulator plays a crucial role in the final stage of tire recycling, transforming pre-shredded rubber mulch into finely sized granules — as small as 1 mm. Equipped with high-precision rotary knives and a robust screening system, the granulator ensures consistent particle size and superior cutting quality. Oversized particles are automatically recirculated through the machine until they meet the required specification, resulting in a clean and uniform final product.
In a standard tire recycling line, the granulator typically operates as the third processing stage, following the primary and secondary shredders. At this point, wire-free rubber chips enter the granulator for further size reduction. The machine’s high-speed rotor and close-tolerance blade alignment create a shearing effect that efficiently converts rubber chips into granules while removing residual textile fibers and steel fragments.
During processing, the granulator also initiates the fiber extraction process, which is essential since passenger tires generally contain 10 – 15 % nylon or polyester fibers by weight. The resulting crumb rubber is typically between 3/8 inch and 400 microns (≈ 0.4 mm), suitable for a wide range of applications such as athletic surfaces, rubber flooring, and asphalt modification.
