Wire-free chips—also known as clean rubber mulch—are produced after the second-stage granulation process in a tire recycling system. At this point, the primary tire shreds are refined into uniform chips while the remaining steel is extracted through an advanced magnetic separation and cleaning system. The resulting material is typically 99% wire-free, with standard chip sizes ranging from 1¼” to 3/8”.

These wire-free chips serve a wide variety of applications, from landscaping and playground surfacing to industrial and civil engineering use. One of the key advantages is the added value created by removing and selling the recovered steel. Wire-free rubber chips remain a durable, low-maintenance material favored by both commercial users and homeowners.
